I am Shamayam Qawal, a soulful songstress whose musical journey reflects a transformative path of resilience, faith, and self-discovery. From the moment I could talk, music became the language of my heart, and the Christian hymns of my upbringing became the foundation of my voice. My music weaves a powerful narrative of triumph over adversity, rooted in the Truth of Yah.
Born and raised in the embrace of Christian hymns, I found solace and expression within the melodies of the church. My journey took a challenging turn early on, as I navigated single motherhood with my voice as my constant companion. Despite facing obstacles like the theft of my music and dealing with unscrupulous management, my commitment to music became the cornerstone of my strength.
A pivotal chapter of my life unfolded in Killeen, Texas, where I explored secular music and different dimensions of my artistry. However, as I faced these adversities, I found myself at a crossroads. I decided to return to my roots in the Christian church, seeking purpose and solace in the spiritual connection that music provided.
This return led me to an unexpected enlightenment through the Truth of Yah within THE LIONS OF ISRAEL congregation. This revelation breathed new life into my artistic spirit, guiding me on a transformative spiritual and musical journey. While I may not be a celebrity in the conventional sense, my love for music remains the driving force that keeps me alive and propels me to overcome obstacles.
